**NEW** Outreach Service
Due to popular demand we are now able to offer car access assessments at your home! We have a specialist wheelchair accessible vehicle fitted with various adaptations. We cover the whole of Yorkshire.
Passenger/Access
This will consider how to get in and out of a vehicle more easily.
A Therapist will help you to identify an appropriate type of vehicle and/or transfer equipment.

In-car Assessment

These are undertaken in a dual controlled car under the expert supervision of a Mobility Therapist and an Approved Driving Instructor.

The assessment takes place on public roads and you will therefore need a valid driving licence.

Wheelchair/Scooter
A variety of battery powered vehicles are available to try indoors and outdoors. The Therapist will help you to decide which vehicle best suits your needs.
The Therapist can also advise on wheelchair/scooter stowage.

Drive from Wheelchair
We also offer a drive from Wheelchair assessment twice a year. It is a Chrysler Grand Voyager, fitted with an automatic side access ramp and the following controls:
- Electronic radial accelerator
- Electronic central ring accelerator
- Mechanical Push brake
- Infra-red switching unit
- Secondary Control bleeper system
- Electronic linear slide accelerator & brake
- Lightened steering
- Electronically adjustable drivers seat
A crash tested wheelchait is available if your own is not suitable to use for driving

The current fee for a driving assessment is £75
Car Outreach assessments are £25
