Moving and Handling Facilitators

Aims:
To provide a learning experience for facilitators to promote,
within their areas of responsibility,
theoretical understanding and practice of Safer Handling & Moving Techniques in line with current legislations.

Objectives:  To achieve a general understanding of; Current Legislation, health & Safety at Work, Ergonomics & Risk Assessment,
use of equipment,
Implementation, Anatomy & Physiology of the spine,
Biomechanics,
Causes of back pain & injury. 
Be able to recognise: Ability to utilise a safer sysytem of work. 
Be able to discuss; The legal aspects of manual handling, Health and Safety at work implications, risk Management.

Philosophy:  The key philosphy of the course is to encourage the implementation of minimal handling of patients/clients
whilst maintaining the highest possible standards of care.
